Shree Aai Foundry

Working at a foundry is never a clean job. At Shree Aai Foundry, located at Plot No. 167 in Aji Vasahat, Gidc 2, it gets pretty hot and dusty. We are right here in Rajkot, part of the 360003 area. The furnace is going most of the day, and you can feel the heat as soon as you walk in. We deal with molds and molten metal, so everyone has to stay sharp. It’s not the kind of place where you wear a nice shirt. Most of us are in old clothes that can stand the sparks and the grime. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to find someone who isn't currently pouring metal. It’s a lot of physical work, moving heavy molds and cleaning up the castings once they cool down. Sometimes the pours don't go perfectly and we have to start over. That’s just the way it is with foundry work. We’ve been at this site for a while and the walls are blackened with smoke, but the equipment works fine. We don't do any big advertising. People in the Gidc know who we are and what we do. We just keep the fires going and produce what’s needed. It's a tough job but it's what we know how to do. Some days are harder than others, but we get by.
