Shahi Engineering

We set up Shahi Engineering over by Aji Dam Chokdi. It is a convenient spot for us because of the traffic coming through the area. Most people know the landmark, so finding the shop isn't too hard. We do general engineering work here. That means a lot of different things depending on the day. One morning we might be fixing a broken pump and the next we are turning parts on the lathe. The workshop isn't anything fancy to look at. We have our benches and our machines and that is about it. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially when we have the equipment running full tilt. We usually have the radio playing in the corner to keep things moving. We aren't a big corporation with departments and managers. It is just a handful of us who know how to handle machines. If something breaks down, people bring it to us at the Chokdi and we take a look at it. We try to be fair and just get the repairs done so people can get back to their own work. It's a dusty job and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We’ve been around Aji Dam for a while now and we’re happy to just keep doing what we’re doing without making a big fuss about it. We just open the shutters in the morning and get to work until the sun goes down.
