Our place is out on Jamnagar Road at Plot No 5-6-7 in the Madhapar Industrial Estate. It is a big area and Kankot has changed a lot since we first set up Rupam Steel Pvt. Ltd. here. Being in an industrial estate means there is always a lot of noise from other factories and big trucks are constantly moving in and out of the gates. The plots we have are right next to each other, so it is easy to move things between the different sections of our floor. It gets very hot during the middle of the day, especially with all the metal around, but we have some big exhaust fans that help a little bit. Most of the guys here have been working on this site for years and they know exactly where everything is kept. The office is just a small partitioned area at the front where we keep the ledgers and handle the phone calls. We don't spend much time worrying about the decor or making things look pretty. It is a practical space for steel work. Jamnagar Road is always busy, so getting materials delivered can be a bit of a headache with the traffic, but we manage it. We just show up every day, do the work, and head home when the sun goes down. It has been our routine for a long time now and we find it suits us just fine.
