Pragati Engineering

Our shop, Pragati Engineering, is at Plot No.A-54 in the Karlibaugh Industrial Estate. It’s pretty easy to find if you head down the road toward the Jalaram Temple. We are right opposite the telephone exchange. It’s a noisy place to work, honestly. There’s always the sound of cutting or grinding going on. We work with metal mostly, making parts and fixing things that have broken down. The floor is usually covered in some kind of metal shavings or oil, no matter how much we sweep it. That’s just how an engineering workshop is. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in our overalls out on the floor. It’s dusty and hot, especially when the machines have been running all day. We’ve been in Karlibaugh for years. Most of the other shop owners around here are friends of ours. We help each other out with tools or when a job is too big for one person. It’s a practical way of doing things. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. People just know we’re here and they bring their stuff in when it needs fixing. It’s hard work on the hands and the back, but there’s a certain satisfaction in making something that actually fits and works like it’s supposed to. We just get on with it every day and try to keep things moving.
