If you are looking for Patel Steel Products, we are tucked away in the Maruti Industrial Area. It is on the Charbhuja Marble Line, right across from Ashish Engineering near the old Octroi Naka on Gondal Road. It is a busy part of town with a lot of heavy trucks moving in and out. The noise of steel hitting steel is something you hear all day long here. We make various steel items, mostly stuff that people need for building or industrial use. It is heavy work and we all have the callouses to prove it. The workshop is big and open so the air can move, which is a blessing when the sun is beating down on the roof. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. Most of our customers are local people who have been buying from us for years. They know where we are and they know what to expect. We keep a lot of stock in the back, though it can get a bit disorganized when we are in the middle of a big order. Dealing with steel means you are always dealing with weight and rust and sharp edges. We wear our boots out pretty fast. It is a straightforward life. We open up early, do the cutting and bending, and load up the trucks. By the time we head home, we are usually covered in iron dust. The tea shop at the corner is where we usually end the day.
