Melton Metal

Our place, Melton Metal, is situated right out on the Jamnagar - Rajkot Highway in Madhapar. Being near Vajdi means we get a lot of trucks and heavy vehicles passing by at all hours of the day and night. It’s a noisy location because of the highway traffic, but it makes it easy for deliveries to get in and out. The yard is usually full of scrap metal and different types of materials waiting to be sorted or moved. We spend most of our time outside or in the open sheds, so we’re pretty used to the wind and the dust blowing off the road. It’s hard work and your clothes are usually ruined by the end of the shift, but that’s the nature of working with metal. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. People who come to see us are usually looking for something specific for a construction job or a factory. We just weigh the material, handle the paperwork, and get it loaded up. There’s a small cabin where we keep the records, but mostly we are out on the floor. We’ve been operating here for a while now and have seen the highway get wider over the years. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily tasks as they come. The highway noise never really stops, even when we are trying to close up for the day.
