We run Mega Metal out of No. 56 in Bhanktinagar Udyognagar. This is an industrial area, so it’s full of warehouses and small factories like ours. We work with scrap metal and various metal products that we buy and sell locally. It’s hard work and your hands are always dirty by the end of the day, but that’s the nature of the business. The yard is usually full of piles of copper, iron, and aluminum. We have a small scales area where we weigh everything that comes in. It’s not a fancy setup. We have a tiny office in the corner of the lot where we keep the ledger and the phone. Most of the time we are outside moving things around with the forklift. Bhanktinagar is a good spot for us because there are plenty of other businesses nearby that we work with. We don't have a sales team or any brochures. If someone needs metal or has some to sell, they just drive their truck in and we talk. Sometimes we have to argue a bit about the prices because the market for metal changes every day, but we try to be fair. It’s a very basic, honest way to make a living. We’ve been at this for a while and don't plan on changing much. We just keep the gate open and see who comes by with a load of scrap. It is a noisy job, but we like it.
