L.B. Metal Industries

Our place is out at Plot 2765 on I Road in the Metoda-GIDC area. We are right near the Kranti Gate and the Tapi Cement plant, so it is a very industrial part of town. There is always a lot of dust from the trucks and the other factories around us. We work with metal all day long. It is hard work and it can be pretty exhausting when the weather is hot. The shop is filled with the smell of welding and the sound of grinders hitting steel. We don’t have any fancy office staff. Usually, whoever is closest to the door handles the visitors. We have been here in Metoda for quite some time and have seen the GIDC grow a lot. It used to be much quieter, but now there is traffic all day long. We just stick to our plot and get the work done. The machines we use are old but they still work perfectly fine if you know how to handle them. We spend most of our time wearing work boots and heavy gloves. It is not the kind of job where you stay clean. By the end of the shift, we are usually covered in grit, but that is just how metal work goes. We don't make a big deal out of it. We just show up and do what needs to be done. The work is steady and it keeps the lights on.
