If you are driving along the NH-8B, you’ll find us near the Ganga Forging Road. Kalpesh Engineering Company is located at Survey No. 26, Plot No. 7. Being so close to the highway means there is always a layer of dust on everything, but we don’t let that slow us down. Our workshop is filled with heavy machinery and the smell of cutting oil. Engineering is a rough trade, and our hands are usually covered in grease by ten in the morning. We’ve been at this plot for quite some time now. The building is sturdy, though the roof rattles a bit when the wind picks up. We don’t have a corporate structure here. There’s the owner, the supervisors, and the guys on the floor, and we all talk to each other the same way. We spend our time working on parts and fixing things that others can't. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean, but it is steady. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought, so we end up staying late under the dim lights to finish it off. We don't have a website or a marketing person. Most of our work comes from people in the neighborhood who know where to find us. We just focus on the metal in front of us and making sure the machines are running as they should. It’s a simple, hardworking life at Plot No. 7.
