Jumbo Metal

If you find yourself on Dhebar Road (South), you will probably pass us. We are right near Ashirwad Roadways and directly opposite the Chamatkari Balaji Mandir. The temple across the street is a good landmark for people trying to find the shop for the first time. We sit right at the New Lalbahadur Corner. It’s a noisy spot because of all the heavy vehicles passing through this part of town. We deal with metal here, so there is always the sound of things clanking or being moved around. The floor is mostly scrap and raw pieces waiting to be sorted. It’s heavy work and our hands usually have some grease or metal dust on them by noon. We don’t bother with much decoration. The walls are just plain and the desk is covered in receipts and old ledgers. Sometimes the temple bells provide a bit of a break from the industrial sounds outside. Customers come in looking for specific cuts or types of metal and we do our best to find what they need in the pile. It’s a small team of us working here. We know the neighbors well and often share a quick word when things slow down. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoon, making the metal stacks hot to touch. We just keep at it until the day is done. It is just the way we have always operated.
