Jay Metals

Out here in Vavdi, things are always a bit gritty. Jay Metals is located at Plot 42 on Gondal Road, Survey No 38/1. If you’ve ever been down this way, you know it’s mostly industrial stuff, lots of metal and heavy machinery everywhere. Our yard is full of different types of scrap and metal pieces waiting to be sorted or moved. The sun beats down pretty hard on the corrugated roof of the shed, so it gets quite hot in the middle of the day. We’ve got a couple of guys who have been with us for years, they know the weight of a piece of steel just by looking at it. The truck drivers come and go all day, bringing in loads or taking stuff out to the main road. It’s a noisy life, the sound of metal hitting metal is basically our background music. We don't have a fancy reception area, just a small cabin with a desk and a dusty fan. Sometimes the mud gets thick when it rains, making it hard to move the forklifts around the plot. We just deal with it and keep the work moving. It’s a straightforward business, no frills, just lots of heavy lifting and keeping track of the inventory. We have been in this spot for a long time and the routine stays pretty much the same every week.
