We are located right next to the Gulab Nursery Farm in Mavdi Plot. It’s a quiet enough area until the trucks start moving in the morning. Being in Mani Nagar, we have a decent amount of space for our metal stock. We are at units 7 and 8. The nursery next door smells quite nice, which is a good change from the metallic scent that usually hangs around our warehouse. We handle various types of metals, mostly for the local workshops and the builders around here. It’s hard work, moving heavy crates and sorting through different grades of material all day. My brother and I run the day-to-day things. The floor is usually covered in some dust, and we have a small office section that is mostly just a computer and a lot of paper ledgers. We don't do much in terms of advertising, word of mouth usually keeps us busy enough. The heat gets pretty intense in the summer under the tin roof, so we drink a lot of tea to keep ourselves going. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. It’s a nice community vibe here. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic on the main road, but that's just part of living in Rajkot. We focus on getting the orders out as they come. It’s not a complicated business model, just buying and selling metal. We try to keep things organized but it gets messy when a big shipment arrives unexpectedly.
