J. D. Chedi Steel

Our shop, J. D. Chedi Steel, is over in Mavdi Plot. It’s on Mahadevi Main Road, specifically in the Navrangpura area. If you look opposite Populal, you’ll see us there. It’s a decent area, though it gets pretty crowded during the peak hours of the day. We’ve been operating out of this location for a while now. Dealing with steel isn’t the cleanest job, so our hands are usually a bit dirty by lunch. We mostly deal with local builders and people doing their own renovations. It’s interesting to see what people are building. We keep a variety of steel stock in the back, though space is always a bit tight. We try to keep things organized, but in a busy steel yard, things tend to move around. The guys who work here are local, and we all know the shortcuts around Navrangpura to avoid the worst traffic. We don't spend money on big signs or anything. People just know where we are because we've been on this road so long. When someone comes in, we just talk about what they need for their construction. There’s no pressure or sales talk. We just figure out the weight and the cost and load it up. It’s a steady rhythm that we’ve gotten used to over the years. We just show up, do the work, and go home.
