Hindustan Steel Company

Hindustan Steel Company is situated at Plot No. 187 on Road M inside the Aji G.I.D.C. Estate. We are pretty easy to find because the G.E.B. Substation is right nearby. Being near the substation means we don’t have to worry too much about power cuts, which is lucky. Our yard is usually full of steel rods and sheets, and it can look a bit messy to someone who doesn't know our system. But we know where everything is. The sun gets really strong out here on Road M, so we try to do most of the heavy lifting early in the morning or later in the afternoon. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who have been working together for a long time. We know each other’s habits and how to get the trucks loaded without wasting time. The office is a small cabin where we keep all the records and try to stay cool under the fan. It gets pretty dusty with all the trucks passing by on the estate roads, so we are always cleaning off the desks. People come to us because they know we have what they need for their construction or repair jobs. We don’t do any big advertising. Word of mouth usually brings people to our gate. It’s a busy life, but we like being part of the industrial hub here in Aji.
