Devangi Food Processing

We’ve been here at Plot No.80 for a good while now. It’s right on Junagadh Road, not too far from the Jalaram Mandir. If you’ve ever walked past, you probably smelled whatever we were working on that day. My brother and I started this food processing thing because it seemed like a solid way to make a living here in Jetpur. It’s not a fancy place, just a lot of machines and bags of stuff waiting to be sorted. Sometimes the dust gets a bit much, especially in the dry season when the trucks kick it up from the main road. We spend most of our mornings checking the equipment and making sure the staff knows what to do for the shift. It’s loud inside, so we usually talk loud too. People from the neighborhood stop by sometimes just to say hello or ask if we have any scrap sacks they can use for their own gardens. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a desk in the corner where the paperwork piles up. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, but we keep the fans going. It’s just regular work, nothing too special about it, but it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. We mostly focus on getting things done right so we don't have to redo it the next day. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. That’s just how it goes here.
