Amit Steel Art

You can find us over at the Govt. Press Building, right on the ground floor. We’re pretty close to the Railway Station Circle on Tagore Road, so it gets quite hectic around here with all the travelers and traffic passing by. Amit Steel Art has been set up in this spot for a bit. Working with steel means there is always something to cut, weld, or move around. It's a lot of physical labor and we usually go home pretty tired. The shop floor is usually covered in scraps and dust, but that's part of the process. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us working with the metal and trying to get things out the door on time. People stop by on their way to the station sometimes just to ask questions. We try to be helpful when we can. The building itself is an old one, so it has its quirks, like the lights flickering or the doors sticking in the rainy season. We just work around it. It’s a straightforward business. We make things out of steel and we sell them. That’s the long and short of it. Every day is a bit different depending on what people are asking for that week. We don't put on any airs about being something we're not. We just do the work and keep the shop running. It's a noisy life but it's ours.
