Sanshodhan Farmer Producer Company Limited is based at Shri Prabhakar Gangadhar’s place in Halda. It’s a small village setup, and that is exactly how we like it. Being in Halda means we are right in the middle of where the actual farming happens. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who handle the administrative side of things for the local farmers. The company was put together to help get the produce to where it needs to go without a lot of middle-men getting in the way. It’s a lot of phone calls and ledger books, but it’s what keeps the lights on. The atmosphere here is very informal. You might find us sitting on the porch talking about the latest prices or worrying about the lack of rain. We don't have any polished speeches or mission statements hung up on the wall. We just focus on the task at hand, which is usually getting the harvest sorted and sold. Sometimes things get a bit messy, especially when the trucks are late or the weather turns bad suddenly. But we just deal with it as it comes. It’s the kind of business where you know everyone by their first name. We’ve been here in Halda for a while, and the people around here know they can just come by the C/O address if they need anything. It is a very direct way of doing things.
