Prabhakar Patil Education Society`S D.T. Ed College, Veshvi, Alibag

Our place, Prabhakar Patil Education Society`S D.T. Ed College, is located in Veshvi, which is right on the edge of Alibag. Alibag is known for its beaches and being a bit of a getaway, but for us, it’s just where we live and work. The college is specifically for those who want to become teachers, so the people here are usually quite focused on their training. Veshvi is a bit quieter than the main Alibag town center, which is nice because it gives the students a bit of space to think. We have a simple building that serves its purpose well. You will see students practicing their teaching methods or sitting in groups discussing their assignments. The air is a bit salty because we are near the coast, and the trees around the campus provide some decent shade when the sun is out. We don’t have a lot of fancy technology or modern art on the walls; it’s just a functional space for people to learn how to manage a classroom. The staff here has been around for a long time, and we mostly know each other's families. It feels like a small village school sometimes, even though we are training adults. We keep the schedule tight, but there is always time for a cup of tea in the break. It is just a honest, hardworking environment where we try to prepare the next generation for the schools they will eventually run.
