About Dnyanjyot Junior College Of Science & Commerce – Education in Raigad
Kharghar is a bit of a windy place, especially being out here in Sector 12. Our plot, B-59, sits in a spot where you can see the hills in the distance on a clear day, which is a nice change from the usual city views. We’re a junior college, so we’ve got a mix of science and commerce students. It’s a funny age because they’re all stuck between being kids and being adults. The labs always have that faint smell of chemicals, and the commerce classrooms are usually full of people arguing over math problems. We don’t have any fancy lobby or polished marble floors. It’s just a practical building meant for studying. Most of us get here by taking the train and then a shared rickshaw from the station. The 410210 area has grown so much lately; there are new buildings popping up everywhere you look. We try to keep our little corner of Plot B-59 feeling familiar. The notice board is always covered in layers of old paper because nobody ever takes the old announcements down. During the exams, the whole place goes quiet, which is a bit strange because usually it’s quite noisy. We don’t have a big mission statement on the wall. We just show up, open the doors, and get to work with the students. It’s a long day, but it’s what we do. Navi Mumbai is home for most of us now and we like it here well enough even when it's humid.
