Down in Raigad, near New Panvel and Rasayani, you’ll find our college. It’s Dr. Pillai'S Junior College Of Education. We spend a lot of time working with students who want to become teachers. It’s a quiet enough part of the district, though the commute can be a bit of a trek for some. The building is simple. We have classrooms that get plenty of sun and a staff room where we sit and talk about the curriculum. It’s not like those big city campuses you see on TV. We deal with real issues, like making sure the books arrive on time and the water cooler is filled. Teaching is hard work, and we try to prepare people for that reality. Most of the folks here are from nearby villages or the outskirts of Panvel. We have a routine. Classes start early, and by the afternoon, it’s mostly just the sound of pens clicking and the occasional motorbike passing outside. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. People mostly hear about us through word of mouth. It’s a place for learning the basics and getting through the exams. We keep the doors open and the chalkboards clean. It feels like a small community here. Everyone knows everyone’s name eventually. It’s just how things are in 402109. We just keep going, day after day, helping the next batch get through their training. It's a humble life but it keeps us busy.
