The clinic is located at 1398, Paranjpe Apartment, right in the heart of Sadashiv Peth. It’s an old building, very typical of this part of Pune. People have been coming here to see us for a long time. The waiting room isn’t huge, and the wooden chairs have been there for as long as I can remember. We try to keep things quiet inside, but Sadashiv Peth is a lively place with a lot of walkers and scooters zooming by outside. Dr. Yogesh spends most of the day seeing patients one by one. There is no big rush here. We listen to what people have to tell us about their health and their families. The walls are covered with some old certificates and maybe a calendar that is a few days behind. It feels like a home because it basically is part of one. We don’t use any fancy computer systems for every little thing; a lot of the records are still written down in big registers with a pen. It’s easier that way for us to keep track of everyone who lives in the surrounding streets. Sometimes people just stop by to say hello even if they aren't feeling sick. That’s how it works in a neighborhood like this. We keep regular hours, but if someone has an emergency, we do what we can to help. The fans hum on the ceiling all day long while we work.
