Vida Kitchen

Vida Kitchen is located on the ground floor of Vishal Niwas, right in the Baner Kasturba Housing Society. We’re in Shop No 2, so we’re pretty easy to spot if you’re coming from the Balewadi Phata Chowk. The Orchid School is very close by, so we see a lot of parents and school kids walking past our door during the day. This part of the Baner Mahalunge Road has grown so much in the last few years. We decided to set up here because it’s a nice residential neighborhood with a lot of families living nearby. Inside the shop, it’s mostly about the cooking and prep work. We spend a lot of time chopping vegetables and making sure the kitchen is kept clean. It’s a small space, but we’ve organized it to make everything fit. The smell of whatever we’re cooking usually drifts out onto the sidewalk and catches people’s attention. Sometimes the street gets a bit crowded with cars and scooters, especially around the school pick-up time in the afternoon. We’ve got a simple setup here without any flashy lights or big advertisements. It’s just a place where we make food every day for the local folks. I’ve lived in this area for a while, so seeing familiar faces walk by the shop is one of the best parts. We don’t do much talking, we just focus on the orders and the kitchen. It’s a busy little corner.
