Vartak Engeering Works

Vartak Engineering Works is located out in Aundh Konanakunte. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the city center, but we like being out here. The shop is basically a large garage filled with machines that have seen a lot of use over the years. We do a lot of repair work and custom parts for machines. There is always a layer of fine metal dust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. We don’t have a website or any of that, just a phone that rings quite a bit and a lot of people walking in because they heard about us from a friend. The roof leaks a little when it rains hard, so we have to move the equipment around to keep it dry. It’s just part of the charm of the place, I suppose. We usually have a pot of water boiling for tea in the corner. Most days involve a lot of measuring, cutting, and grease. We don’t wear uniforms, just old clothes that we don't mind getting ruined. The guys here have been working together for ages, so we know each other's habits pretty well. It’s a slow-paced life compared to the big factories, but we prefer it that way. We take our time to make sure things are done right, even if it takes an extra hour. It’s just a regular engineering shop where we try to stay busy and keep the machines running for the folks around here.
