Varad Tea & Snacks

Varad Tea & Snacks is over on Hadapsar Anand Mahal Road at E-115. If you walk down that way, you can usually smell the tea brewing from a distance. We spend almost the whole day standing behind the big metal tea urn. It’s a small shop, E-115, so most people just stand outside on the pavement while they drink their tea. We have a small glass case where we keep the snacks like biscuits and some fried items. We have to keep an eye on it to make sure it stays filled up, especially during the morning and evening breaks. Hadapsar is a busy place, and Anand Mahal Road has a lot of people moving through it constantly. Our stove never really goes off until we close up for the night. We use a lot of milk and ginger throughout the day. The counters get a bit sticky with sugar and tea spills, so we are always wiping them down with a rag. We don't have any fancy seating or music playing. It’s just the sound of the traffic and the clinking of the small glass cups we use. It’s a lot of repeat work, making the same tea over and over, but we have our regulars who come in at the exact same time every single day. It’s just a local snack spot for people to pause for a second. We count the cups at the end of the night.
