Vaishali Exporter is located on the 1st floor of Johar Palace, which is at 22 A in Shivaji Nagar. It’s an old building, so you have to walk up the stairs since the lift is often acting up. Our office is filled with boxes, tape, and stacks of shipping forms. It’s not the most organized-looking place, but we have our own system for keeping track of what is going where. Exporting is a lot of waiting for documents and then suddenly everything has to happen at once. Shivaji Nagar is always busy, so there’s a lot of noise coming up from the street. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or checking emails to make sure the shipments reached the port. It’s a bit stressful when a container gets delayed, but that’s the nature of this business. We don't have a fancy showroom because we don't really sell to people walking in off the street. Most of our work is done through contacts we’ve had for years. The office gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons, so we usually keep the balcony door open to get some air, even with the traffic sounds. It’s just a small team of us here in Johar Palace. We’ve been in this spot for a long time and the landlord is a decent guy. It’s just a regular office doing regular work.
