Turnwell Engineering

Turnwell Engineering is based up in Santosh Nagar, right in the Katraj area. Our place is at Sarvey No- 70/1/1A/30, and it’s an engineering shop, so there’s almost always the sound of metal being worked on somewhere in the back. We’ve got a big open space with various machines and old workbenches scattered around. The concrete floor has some deep stains from the many years we’ve been operating here. We try to start our work early in the morning while it’s still a bit cool outside. By the middle of the day, it gets quite loud once all the equipment is running at the same time. We usually wear our old, worn-out clothes because everything gets covered in metal shavings and oil within an hour. There’s a small wooden cabinet where we keep our personal tools locked up at night. The walk from the main road isn't too long, and we usually grab some snacks or a soda from the local shops nearby during our break. We don't spend any money on making the place look pretty since it’s just a workshop. For us, it’s more about making sure the machines are running correctly and the jobs get done. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat or watch what we’re working on for a bit. We’ve been part of this Katraj community for a long time now. It’s a lot of hard physical work, but it’s a living. We just keep our heads down and get through the daily tasks.
