The Orchid

Out here in Lamjewadi, which is part of the Indapur area, things are a lot quieter than what you find in Pune city. We are located right at the village level, and most of the people around here are involved in farming or local trades. The place itself is quite simple. It’s a building that serves its purpose without any extra frills or fancy decorations. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the locals and handling the daily tasks that come with being in a rural setting. The weather really dictates our day; if it’s raining, everything slows down, and if it’s harvest time, everyone is busy. We have a few rooms that we use for various bits of work, and there’s usually a pot of tea sitting on a small stove in the back. It’s the kind of place where you can just walk in and talk to whoever is sitting at the desk. We don't really have formal meetings or anything like that. We just discuss things as they come up. Sometimes the power goes out for hours, so we just sit outside on the porch and wait for it to come back. It’s a slow-paced life, but it suits us just fine. We know everyone in the village, so it feels more like a community spot than a strict business. It’s a decent way to live and work away from the city noise.
