If you go to the second floor of Vasant Plaza Executive at Khajina Vihir Chowk, you’ll find us. Bhoomi Tour Travel is right in the middle of Sadashiv Peth, so the traffic outside is always a mess of rickshaws and bikes. Our office is tucked away from the noise, but you can still hear the horns honking down on Tilak Road. I spend most of my day sitting behind a desk covered in train schedules, bus routes, and half-finished tea. People walk in with all sorts of questions about where they can go for a weekend or how to get a ticket to a small town that doesn't have a big station. We have a couple of computers that are a bit slow, and the printer likes to jam when we are in a hurry. It’s a lot of coordination, calling drivers to see where they are and making sure the hotel bookings are actually confirmed. Sometimes a trip goes perfectly, and sometimes a tire blows out or a flight gets canceled, and we have to fix it on the fly. The walls are mostly bare except for a calendar and a map of the state. We’ve been here at number 1696 for quite a while now. It’s just a small team of us trying to keep the itineraries straight and the customers from getting lost. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking the clock.
