We have been here in D-Block for quite a while now. Most days start early before the sun gets too high over MIDC Pimpri. It is noisy because of all the machines running, but that is just how an engineering place works. We do not have a fancy office with leather chairs. Instead, there are tools scattered around and a lot of metal scraps in the corners. People stop by when they need something fixed or a part made specifically for a job they are working on. Sometimes we get really busy and the floor gets messy, but we try to keep things moving. It is not always perfect. The tea stall down the street knows our order by heart because we take breaks whenever the power fluctuates or we just need a minute away from the lathe. We deal with various mechanical bits and pieces every day. Most of the guys here have grease under their fingernails and that is fine by us. It shows we actually do the work ourselves. If you walk into our unit, you will probably see someone hunched over a drawing or welding something in the back. We just focus on getting the tasks finished so we can head home to our families. Pimpri is a busy area, and we are just one small part of the industrial noise here, doing what needs to be done without making a big fuss about it.
