Our company, Precomp Tools Pvt. Ltd., is based at Plot No.108 - D in Village- Ranje. It’s in the Taluka Bhor area of Pune, Maharashtra. Being out here in the village is a bit different than being in the middle of a big city like Mumbai. The air is a little cleaner, though the roads can be a bit bumpy getting out here during the rains. We’ve got a decent-sized plot, and we’ve made the most of the space we have. Most of the people who work here are from the surrounding villages, so it’s a real local effort. We don’t have any of those glass-walled offices you see in the big tech parks. Our walls are solid brick, and we keep the windows open for the breeze. Sometimes a stray dog wanders into the yard looking for scraps, or we have to wait for a tractor to move out of the way on the main road. It’s a slower pace of life outside the shop, but inside, we’re usually pretty busy. We’ve got our routines down, from the morning tea to the final check before shipping the orders out. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make the tools and make sure they’re right. It’s a lot of concentration and a lot of repetitive work, but we find a good rhythm in it. We like the quiet of Ranje.
