Swami Krupa Arts

We've been here at Budhwar Peth 686-10 for a good while now. It's a busy part of the city, and our small shop, Swami Krupa Arts, fits right in with the local vibe. Most days start early, getting things ready before the crowd hits the streets. We deal with various art pieces and framing, mostly stuff people want for their homes or for local festivals. It isn’t fancy, just a workspace where we get things done. Sometimes the shop gets a bit cluttered with materials, but that's how we work. My father started this, and I just took over. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the craft well enough. People from the neighborhood drop by mostly. Sometimes they have specific ideas for a frame or a statue, and other times they just pick what's on the shelf. The light in the back of the shop isn't great, but we make do with what we have. Budhwar Peth is always noisy with the traffic outside, but once you step inside, it's just about the work on the table. We use simple tools and traditional methods because that’s what we were taught. It’s not about being the biggest shop around or having a polished showroom. It’s more about keeping the routine going and making sure the orders are ready when promised. Some days are slower than others, especially when the rain hits hard and nobody wants to be out. We’ve seen the street change quite a bit over the years. But Swami Krupa Arts stays pretty much the same.
