Our shop is located at 308 Shivaji Nagar. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always noise from the street. We’ve been doing pattern work and general engineering here for a long time. The building is old, and the stairs are a bit narrow. Inside, the air is often filled with the smell of wood and metal. We make patterns for all sorts of things, mostly for local foundries. It’s a lot of manual labor. We use saws and chisels and sanders. You’ll usually find us covered in wood dust by noon. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a nice suit. We have a few machines that have been with us since we started. They’re loud but they are reliable. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. Most people find us through word of mouth. They know we’re here at 308. We take our time with the work because patterns have to be just right, or the final casting won't work. Sometimes we have to redo a piece, and that’s just part of the job. We don’t get frustrated; we just start again. It’s a quiet life in a loud city. We just focus on what’s on the workbench and try to finish the day’s tasks before the sun goes down.
