Sumadhu Engineering Industries

Our shop, Sumadhu Engineering Industries, is located in Dapodi 12. It’s been our base for a long time. Dapodi is a bit of an older industrial area and you can see that in the buildings around us. We do a lot of heavy work here, mostly related to industrial parts and assemblies. The gates open early in the morning and we don’t really close up until late evening. There are a lot of challenges running an engineering firm in an area like this, like managing the old wiring and making sure the heavy trucks can get into the narrow driveway. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for years. They know the rhythm of the place. We don't use any fancy software for managing things, just a couple of notebooks and some chalkboards to keep track of orders. The air in the shop is always thick with the sound of grinding and welding sparks. Sometimes people get confused finding us because the numbering in Dapodi 12 is a bit strange, but once they find the big blue door, they know they are at the right place. We just focus on the metal and the machines. It is a humble setup and we don't try to pretend it is anything else. Most of our day is spent measuring things and making sure the cuts are straight. It's a hard way to spend the day but it’s what we know.
