We’re located at 15-A on Mumbai Road, right where all the traffic seems to converge during rush hour. It’s a practical spot for us because it’s easy for the trucks to find when they are dropping off new stock. The building isn't new, and it has some quirks, like the light in the hallway that flickers if you don't hit the switch just right. Inside, it’s mostly shelves and boxes. We spend a lot of time counting inventory and making sure the numbers match up at the end of the shift. Dealing with liquors means there is always some new regulation or tax form to worry about, so we spend a fair amount of time at the back desk dealing with that stuff. We know most of the people who come in because they live or work nearby. It’s a straightforward kind of business. We don't have a lot of fancy displays or big signs. People know we’re here and they know what we have. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with all the cardboard boxes moving around, so we spend the quiet hours cleaning up. It’s just me and a couple of others keeping the place going. We don’t try to be something we’re not; we just provide what people are looking for and try to keep things moving along without any big drama. It is a simple life on Mumbai Road, just keeping the shop in order.
