If you walk down Sasane Lane in Hadapsar, you will find us at Laxmi Niwas, number 342. This is where Barista Lavazza Coffee Co Ltd is set up. It’s a busy little corner of Pune. Most of our morning is spent getting the machines warmed up and making sure the beans are ready to go. The smell of coffee hits you as soon as you open the door, which is probably the best part of working here. We have all kinds of people coming in, from students with their books to folks stopping by on their way to work. It gets loud when the milk steamer is going and people are talking, but it’s a good kind of noise. We spend a lot of time cleaning counters and wiping down tables because things get messy fast. It’s not just about the drinks; it’s about having a place where people can sit for a bit. The staff here is mostly local, so we recognize the regulars who come in every single day. Sometimes we run out of a certain pastry or the fridge acts up, but we just handle it. It is a lot of standing on your feet and moving around, but we are used to it by now. Hadapsar is a growing area, and it feels like there’s always something happening outside our windows. We just keep the coffee flowing and try to keep the place looking decent for the next person.
