We’ve been here at Shop No 5 for a while now. It’s right near Hostakola Sadi on Laxmi Road, which is always busy. People come and go all day. Most mornings start with just opening up the shutters and dusting off the shelves because the street gets quite dusty. It isn’t a huge space but we make it work. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and we take a quick break. We handle a lot of different things here, mostly just helping out whoever walks through the door looking for something specific. Laxmi Road has so many shops, so it’s easy to get lost, but we are right there in the middle of it. My uncle started this and now I spend most of my time here. We don't really do fancy displays or anything. It's just simple. If someone needs something, we find it in the back. The lighting isn't the best in the evening, but we got used to it. The rain sometimes leaks a bit near the front door during monsoon, so we keep some old newspapers handy. It's just a regular local shop where we know the neighbors and the other shopkeepers. We don't have a big website or anything like that. Just this small place on the corner. It's enough for us. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons but we have a small fan that keeps the air moving just enough to stay comfortable.
