Smevs Engineering Works

The shop here at 27/1, Laxmanroa Kirloskar Path in Kirkee is usually quite a noisy place. We have been doing this engineering work for a long time now. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot and the guys get right to the machines. There is always a lot of metal shavings on the floor and the smell of oil is just something we live with. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that, just a workshop where we try to get the jobs done on time. Sometimes the old machines act up and we have to spend half the morning fixing them before we can even start on the customer orders. People around Kirkee know where we are because we’ve been in this same spot for years. We don't really do much in the way of advertising, we just wait for the phone to ring or someone to walk through the gate with a part that needs fixing. It’s hard work and your hands are never really clean even after scrubbing them at night. The tea guy comes around at eleven and that’s when everyone takes a break to sit on the benches outside. We deal with all sorts of metal parts and repairs, nothing too big or too small. Just everyday engineering stuff that keeps the local businesses around here running. It gets dusty in the summer and a bit damp when it rains, but the work stays the same.
