Sice Something Can Eat

We are set up on Baner Road. If you know the area, you know how much traffic goes by here every single day. The name of the place is Sice Something Can Eat, which is a bit different, but it’s what we went with when we started. I spend a lot of my time in the prep area. There is always something to chop or a sauce to mix up for the dishes. We don't have a massive kitchen, so we have to be pretty careful about how we use the space and where we put the stock. The tables are simple and we try to keep them clean, though with the dust from the road outside it feels like a constant battle with the broom. I usually start the day by checking the fresh supplies that come in from the market. If the vegetables don't look good, I have to send them back, which is a total hassle for everyone. It’s just a few of us working here. We don't have a big corporate manual or anything like that to follow. We just cook things and serve them. Sometimes the orders come in fast and we have to really move to keep up with the crowd. Other times it’s quiet and I’ll just sit by the window and watch the cars go by on Baner Road. It’s a simple enough life for us. We just want to make sure the food is ready and the place is open for whoever is hungry.
