Shri Durga Engineering Works

Our workshop is at Plot 124 in Sector 7, over in the PCNTDA area. It’s quite easy to find because we are right near the Times of India building. That’s the landmark everyone uses. Shri Durga Engineering Works has been here through a lot of changes in the neighborhood. When we first started, there wasn't nearly this much traffic. Now, it’s always humming. We do fabrication and general engineering stuff. It’s noisy work. We’ve got welders and grinders going most of the day. The floor is concrete and always has some oil spots on it. We don’t mind. It shows we’re actually doing something. We don't have a big office staff. It’s mostly just us out on the floor. We take on whatever jobs come through the door, as long as we have the tools for it. Sometimes it's a small repair, sometimes it's a bigger project that takes weeks. We don't use much fancy software. We mostly just use our eyes and the tools we’ve had for years. It’s a honest way to make a living. We have tea around four every day, no matter how busy it gets. It’s a bit of a routine. That’s how we’ve always done things. Just a local shop trying to stay busy and do decent work for whoever walks in. We aren't looking to grow huge, just to stay steady.
