Shree Om Engineers

You can find Shree Om Engineers at Shed No.4 in Dhayari, right on Ambaimatha Road. We are near the Dhondai Industry area, so it’s a very noisy part of town. The shed is big and has a high roof that echoes whenever someone drops a wrench. There is oil on the floor and metal shavings tucked into the corners. We spend most of our time standing at machines or leaning over workbenches. It’s not the kind of place where you want to wear nice clothes because they’ll get ruined in about five minutes. The smell of cutting oil and grease is pretty much stuck in the walls by now. We’ve got an old radio that mostly plays static, but we leave it on anyway. When the machines are all running at once, you have to yell to be heard. We don't have a fancy lobby or a waiting room. If you come to see us, you’ll probably find us with dirty hands. There’s a small desk in the corner where we keep the logbooks and the phone, but nobody spends much time sitting there. The sun comes through the gaps in the roof panels and lights up the dust in the air. It’s hard work and it’s often sweaty, but that’s just how it is in a machine shop in Dhayari. We just focus on the parts we’re making and try to keep the machines in good shape.
