Shobha Engineering Works

Shobha Engineering Works is located at 40/4 Nagar Road in Vadgaonsheri. Being on Nagar Road means we are right near the main flow of traffic coming in and out of the city. It’s a dusty place because of all the construction and the big trucks rumbling past all day. Inside, it smells like oil and burnt metal, which is exactly how an engineering shop should smell. We have our lathes and welding machines set up in a way that makes sense for the work we do, even if it looks a bit cluttered to an outsider. There are always iron filings on the ground and blueprints pinned to the walls with bits of tape. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the machines and get the parts right. The building itself is just a basic structure that keeps the rain off the equipment. Some days we are busy from sunrise to sunset, and other days it’s just about maintenance and cleaning the tools. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or marketing stuff. People know where we are because we’ve been at this Vadgaonsheri spot for a good while. It’s practical work. We get our hands dirty, fix what needs fixing, and try to keep the machines running smooth. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know and we just keep at it every day. When the power goes out, we just take a break and wait it out.
