If you head down Pune-Satara Road 5, you will find Shivam Engineering. It’s a workshop, mostly. We have some lathes and milling machines that have seen better days but still work just fine if you know how to handle them. The floor is concrete and usually has some oil spots here and there. We do metal work. People bring us broken parts or drawings on scraps of paper, and we try to make sense of them. It’s noisy. You have to speak up to be heard over the grinders. We don't have a website or anything like that. Most people just show up because they heard we can fix things. I’ve lived around here my whole life. The traffic on Pune-Satara Road is getting worse every year, making it hard for deliveries sometimes. We just deal with it. We drink a lot of chai during the day to stay sharp. The shop is a bit dark, but we have good lights over the benches. It’s not a place for suits. We wear old clothes because they’re going to get ruined anyway. Sometimes we stay late to finish a job for a neighbor. It’s just how we do things. We don't make a big deal out of it. We are just a local engineering shop trying to do right by the people who come in and that is enough for us.
