Our place is number 7 in Brilliant Chambers, which is on Mayur Colony in Kothrud. Kothrud is a busy part of town, and Mayur Colony has its own specific pace. The office is usually full of drawings and technical manuals piled on every surface. We are engineers, so our desks are mostly covered in blueprints and half-finished sketches. It is a bit crowded in here with all the metal filing cabinets lining the walls. The building, Brilliant Chambers, has been around for a long time. We know the other people in the building, like the guys who run the accounting firm next door. We go out for Vada Pav in the evenings when we need a quick break from the screens. Engineering isn't always exciting; it is a lot of calculating and double-checking numbers until they are right. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to answer the phones. We just talk to our clients directly ourselves. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing all morning. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we have some old AC units that clatter away and keep us cool enough. We like being in Kothrud because everything we need is close by. It is a good, central spot for a business like ours. We just keep our heads down and get the designs finished and sent out to the clients. It works for us.
