We’ve been here at Sr No. 73/1 in Tapkir Nager for a while now. Most days it’s just the sound of the machines running and the guys moving metal parts around. Kalewadi is a busy spot so there’s always something going on outside our door. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular engineering shop where we handle the jobs as they come in. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine needs fixing and that slows things down, but that’s just how it is working in Pimpri. We spend a lot of time looking at drawings and making sure the measurements are okay. It gets pretty dusty in here especially when the wind kicks up from the road. Most of the people who work here live nearby so we all know the local tea stall pretty well. It’s a lot of manual work and getting grease on your clothes is just part of the day. We don’t have a big front office or anything like that. If someone stops by, they usually find us out on the floor near the lathes. It’s a practical setup. We just focus on getting the parts finished so they can be picked up. There’s always a pile of scrap metal in the corner that needs clearing out eventually. We keep at it from morning until the evening. It’s honest work and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood over the years.
