You can find us over at Sakal Group Of Publication Ltd in the Paranjpe Schemes area of Dhayari. We’re located in the Akashdep building on Sinhagad Road in Pune. It’s a busy part of town, and there’s always something happening right outside our door. We’ve been part of the publishing scene for a long time, but here at this branch, it feels more like a local neighborhood office. We spend our days dealing with newspapers and articles, making sure the local news gets out to the people of Pune. The office is full of old desks and stacks of paper, which is exactly how a publication house should look, if you ask me. We have a lot of long-time staff who have seen the city grow and change over the decades. We aren’t really into the high-tech, flashy media stuff. We just care about getting the daily edition right. Sometimes the printers act up or there’s a delay with the delivery trucks, but we just handle it. It’s a lot of mundane work, like checking spelling and making sure the ads are in the right place. We don’t have a grand vision, just a commitment to showing up every morning and getting the paper ready. It’s a solid, honest way to make a living, and we’re proud to be doing it here in Dhayari. The chai wallah nearby knows all our names and exactly how we like our tea.
