Sai Seva Engineers

Our shop is at 75 Kalewadi, and it's a place where we get our hands dirty every single day. We are an engineering firm, but that basically means we spend our time fixing machines and making parts for people in the neighborhood and nearby industries. The floor is usually covered in a bit of metal shavings and oil, no matter how much we try to sweep it up. We have a few lathes and some welding equipment that stay busy from early morning until we close up at night. It can get pretty hot in the summer, but we keep the big doors open to let the breeze in. We don't have a fancy office or any air conditioning; we just have a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledger and the phone. People from the area stop by with all sorts of broken things, and we see if we can weld them back together or make a replacement piece. It’s the kind of work where you can see what you’ve accomplished by the end of the day. We are just a local crew of mechanics and welders who enjoy working with our hands. We take turns getting tea from the stall down the road, and we usually sit on the stools outside for a few minutes to catch our breath. It’s simple, honest work that keeps the local businesses running. We don't need much more than that to stay happy.
