Sai Misal & Cold Drink House

Our place, Sai Misal & Cold Drink House, is right on the Pimpri Gorwa Subhanpura Road. It’s a noisy spot because of all the vehicles passing by, but that’s good for business. We start our morning by prepping the sprouts and the spicy rassa. People come here specifically for the heat of the misal. We serve it with fresh bread and then they usually ask for a cold drink to settle their stomach. The fridge is always full of sodas and bottled water. We have metal tables that are easy to clean, which is good because things get messy quickly. The fans overhead spin all day but it still stays warm near the kitchen. We spend a lot of time carrying heavy trays and shouting orders back to the cooks. It’s a fast-paced environment. Subhanpura Road never seems to go quiet. We get a lot of workers and students who need a cheap, filling meal. The floor is concrete and we mop it whenever we get a chance. We don't have any decorations on the walls, just a calendar and some old photos. It’s a practical shop meant for eating and moving on. We make the spice blend ourselves every few days. It's a lot of grinding and mixing but it's the way we've always done it. We just keep the stove going until the last customer leaves.
