You’ll find us at Plot No 104 in the Mohokar Complex. It’s right on Paud Road, so it stays pretty noisy with the buses and cars. Being near Jog Hospital makes it easy for people to give directions to the shop. We’ve got a lot of tools and parts scattered around because that’s just the nature of engineering work. It’s not the cleanest office, but we know where everything is. The fans hum all day long to keep the heat off. Most of us have been working together for years. We usually take our breaks at the small tea stall just down the road. It’s a busy stretch of Pune. Sometimes the traffic is so bad it takes forever just to get the truck out of the complex. We handle a lot of technical stuff, mostly repairs and fitting things together. There’s always a smell of metal and oil in the air. We don’t have a receptionist, so you just shout if you need someone. We keep the ledger on a wooden desk that’s seen better days. It’s a practical space. We open up early and stay until the shutters go down in the evening. There’s always a project half-finished on the bench. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep the machines running for whoever calls. It is just the work we do every day to keep things moving. We don't have a lot of space for extra people.
