This unit is located inside the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital over in Pimpri. Specifically, we are on the first floor. Being inside such a large hospital means it is always busy around here. There are people in the hallways at all hours. We handle specific care services that the hospital needs us for. It’s not like having your own private office on a quiet street. There are gurneys moving past and the smell of antiseptic everywhere. We have our own section where we keep our equipment and files. The staff here works long shifts because the hospital never really sleeps. We eat our lunch quickly when there is a gap in the schedule. It is a lot of coordination with the other departments in YCM. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up because there are just so many patients coming through the main doors downstairs. We try to keep our area organized, but in a big place like this, things move fast. We aren't here to look fancy. We are here because the hospital is a central hub for Sant Tukaram Nagar and the rest of Pimpri. It is a functional space, mostly white walls and tile floors. We just do our part in the bigger system of the hospital. It’s tiring work, but it is what we do every day. We don't have time for anything but the tasks at hand.
