Puneri Zaika

Puneri Zaika is our food stall located at number 62 in the GheeKanta area of Swargate, right behind Prakash Cinema. Being in Swargate means we are always surrounded by people and noise. There are buses going in and out of the stand nearby, and there is always a crowd. We started this place because we wanted to share the flavors we grew up with. The space we have is very small, so most of the cooking happens right in front of the customers. It’s a bit messy and crowded, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We don't have a fancy menu with photos. It's just a board with the items and prices written on it. We spend a lot of time grinding our own spices because the store-bought ones don't taste right to us. The heat from the stove combined with the Pune summer can be a lot to handle, but we stay busy. We have people from all walks of life stopping by, from theater-goers to bus drivers. We don't have a big corporate team or any investors. It's just a few of us working long hours to keep things running. Sometimes we run out of gas or the rain makes it hard for people to stand and eat, but we manage. We just want to make food that reminds people of home.
